About Dash
Meet Dash, a lovable, playful two-year-old shepherd mix with a big heart—literally and figuratively. Weighing in at about 70 pounds, this short-coated wiggle butt is crate and potty trained, knows his basic commands, and catches on quick. He’s enthusiastic about learning more, especially when it comes to loose leash walking, and he always aims to please. Dash thrives in the company of other dogs and loves every minute of playtime, but after a romp, he’s just as content to curl up at your feet for a nap. He hasn’t met cats, so his response to them is an open question, but he does best in a calm, adult-only home where he can really settle in. While Dash does have a stage 4 heart murmur, it appears benign and doesn’t dampen his spirit one bit—he’s full of the same energy and affection as any other pup. Sometimes he spooks easily, but with a patient, gentle family, you’ll see him blossom. If you’re ready for an affectionate companion who gives as much love as he receives, Dash is waiting for you in Chesapeake Beach, MD. Click apply to start the adoption process.

Questions about Dash
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Dash, as a shepherd mix, usually does best in a home that offers structure and plenty of attention. He thrives in an environment where he can get both physical and mental stimulation, making him ideal for active adopters.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Most shepherd mixes, like Dash, appreciate a yard to run and play in, but he can manage well with regular walks and off-leash time at a park. He needs a chance to burn off energy daily.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
While shepherd mixes can be great with kids, Dash will do best in an adult-only home where he feels safest and most relaxed. His playful energy shines brightest in a calm, grownup setting.
