About Gemma

Meet Gemma, a 6-year-old Bichon Frise/Poodle mix who spent her early years as a puppy mill mama and is now settling into the comforts of home life. She’s soft-natured, gentle, and quickly bonds with calm dogs and patient people. Gemma’s favorite spot is next to her foster sister or nuzzled up on the couch with the humans during a movie night. She’s currently used to pee-pad training, but will go outside when taken out—consistency is key for her routine. Walking on a leash is coming along; in unfamiliar areas she prefers to be carried. She rides beautifully in the car. Gemma gets along with other dogs and thrives with a quiet, adult canine companion in the house to help her feel secure. High energy dogs or chaotic environments tend to overwhelm her. Because of her past, Gemma can be anxious and needs a calm, loving home to help her blossom. Once she settles in, she’s affectionate and adores cuddling. Gemma needs a quiet family with patience and at least one gentle adult dog, and she needs a securely fenced yard for safe play. A Rochester area home is required—no shipping or long-distance adoptions. Every animal goes home spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and thoroughly vetted.
