Millie is a sweet 5-year-old Miniature Dachshund looking for a loving home. She came into rescue when her breeder closed, and has been a part of our family for a few years. Millie struggles with socialization and will require a calm, patient, and understanding family. She’s not fond of large dogs and prefers to be around smaller companions. While she enjoys belly rubs, she doesn’t appreciate being held and may exhibit some fear-related behaviors if frightened. Millie is currently not leash trained and primarily uses potty pads, although she will go outside if given the opportunity. Her ideal home would have a securely fenced yard—no underground fences, please. We also require a home visit and a veterinarian reference. Millie is not suitable for homes with children or the elderly, and she cannot be placed with cats. She is currently overweight and needs a dedicated family to help her shed some pounds through a balanced approach.
