About Reuben
Reuben is a sharp, driven pit bull mix with a big personality. At 3 years old, he channels his boundless energy into clever tricks—he already knows how to sit, lay, give paw, speak, and even roll over when asked. He gets a thrill out of learning and really responds when shown what’s expected. Reuben approaches life with enthusiasm—he’s quick to get excited about leashes, toys, or treats, but listens well and settles down with a timely reminder. He’s genuinely social and handles new people like a champ, warming up quickly and confidently. His favorite thing in the world is chasing tennis balls, and his sheer joy in play is hard to miss. While he doesn’t like having the ball taken from him directly, he’s making real progress on his “wait” command and lets you fetch it safely with a tennis ball thrower. He enjoys a good balance of vigorous playtime and downtime, and once his energy is spent, he’ll settle in nicely. There may be some hip or knee issues suspected; the team is working to get him X-rayed to ensure he stays healthy and active. Reuben is house trained and thrives with an adopter who keeps pace with his energy and is consistent with positive reinforcement. He’s ready for someone who loves an energetic companion with a knack for learning and a zest for tennis-ball games. Click apply to start the adoption process.
