Rex is a sweet senior boy, born in April 2014, and believed to be a Basenji mix. At this stage in life, he’s simply looking for a peaceful place to spend his golden years—somewhere soft to nap, a steady routine, and a family who appreciates the quiet joy of an older dog. This handsome gentleman was sadly returned to us when his owner’s health needs changed and they had to move to a smaller home. It’s clear he was deeply loved, and now he’s ready to share that love with someone new. Rex has lived happily with other dogs and has a calm, gentle presence. He does have some vision and hearing limitations, so a relaxed, predictable environment is ideal for him. He’s house-broken but will need a little time to learn his new routine—he aims to please and just needs patience as he settles in. He walks beautifully on a leash, enjoys slow strolls, and is happiest indoors where he can curl up comfortably.
