About Rooter
Rooter is a good-looking Hound mix with a strong streak of independence and an endless curiosity, true to his breed. Picked up as a stray, his backstory is a blank slate, but he’s eager for something new. At about a year and eight months old (born at the tail end of August 2024), Rooter fits the Virgo sign—people born now are practical, intelligent, and value good routines, just like this guy. Rooter’s quick on the uptake, always on the move, and happiest when his nose is in action. With his tendency to roam, a fenced yard is highly recommended to keep him secure while he explores. Rooter is social with other dogs but best with slow, thoughtful introductions; he may thrive as an only pet or with calm canine friends. He’d do best with older children who can match both his playfulness and need for boundaries. Rooter isn’t house trained yet and will need guidance, structure, and patience to get the hang of it, but he’s eager to soak up attention and training from a dedicated owner. Neutered, vaccinated (including rabies), microchipped, dewormed, and tested negative for heartworms, Rooter is ready for a loyal family who will show him the ropes and let his big hound heart shine.
