Meet Cassidy! She is gorgeous, 1 year old, 30 lb, Idaho Shag/Airdale mix. Cassidy is an extremely intelligent, driven young dog who needs a very knowledgeable home. She is not a beginner dog and is best suited for someone with real experience handling working and herding breeds. Cassidy is the kind of dog who wakes up ready to work. The first thing she wants to do every day is go outside—and the moment she does, she immediately finds herself a job. She is constantly observing, thinking, and engaging with her environment. This is a dog with a sharp mind and strong instincts who needs both mental and physical outlets to thrive. Cassidy requires a handler who understands herding-dog behavior and can read canine body language and expressions before situations escalate. She is highly perceptive and very, very smart—living with her means staying mentally engaged and proactive as a handler. She has a strong prey drive and is not a good fit for homes with children or small animals. Cassidy will do best with: • A confident, experienced handler • Someone familiar with working and herding breeds • A job (training, structured work, sport, ranch tasks, or purposeful daily engagement) • A home outside of the city • A standalone house with a fully fenced yard • No apartments or condos Structure, leadership, and purpose are essential for her success.
