Lynn is a 4-year-old, 55-lb sweetheart who came to the shelter as a stray on 11/04. She’s an adorable, gentle girl with a calm and loving demeanor. Lynn knows "sit," takes treats softly, and even offers a cute "shake" — or at least naturally lifts her paw as if she’s trying to. She also does an endearing little begging motion where she lifts both front paws off the ground. She is easy to walk on leash, staying close with only occasional pulling to investigate good scents. When taken outside, she had a lot of business to take care of and her kennel was clean, suggesting she may be house trained. She showed good, relaxed body language as we passed play yards and families with children. Lynn is dog friendly and seems to be more of a calm "co-exister" around other dogs. Unfortunately, Lynn is beginning to show signs of kennel stress — pacing, jumping from wall to wall, consistent panting, and pawing at the door. The shelter environment can be overwhelming, and stress like this can weaken the immune system and increase the risk of illness. Lynn would benefit greatly from a loving adoptive or foster home where she can decompress and feel safe. She’s an absolute cutie, and someone is going to be very lucky to bring her home. As with any new pet, we recommend following the 3-3-3 guideline when helping Lynn settle into her new home: 3 days to decompress, 3 weeks to learn the routine, and 3 months to feel fully at home.
