About Winnie
Winnie is about a year and a half old and has spent much of her young life being passed from one home to the next. Now that she's finally landed somewhere safe, she's learning how to settle into a real home. True to her age, Winnie has a lot of energy and needs someone ready to invest time in her ongoing training. She’s getting the hang of crate time, leash walks, and house training with her foster, but she’s still a work in progress. Winnie does well with people and is eager to bond, but she needs to be the only dog in the home and can’t live with cats or small kids. She’s looking for someone with patience who understands her age and breed and can commit to showing her what a stable, loving family can be. Fun fact: Winnie is a Capricorn, so don’t be surprised if she shows a persistent, determined side. Click apply to start the adoption process.

Questions about Winnie
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Winnie is an Alaskan Malamute and tends to do best in a home with ample space and a secure yard. Apartments may not suit her activity needs, but she’ll thrive where there’s plenty of room to roam.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
The Alaskan Malamute, like Winnie, needs consistent opportunities for exercise and a secure outdoor space to stretch her legs. This breed isn’t a good fit for homes without outdoor access.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Alaskan Malamutes can be good with older children who know how to interact with large, energetic dogs. Winnie is looking for a home without kids under 8, so older kids are a better match.
