Meet Breezy, a spirited 1.5-year-old Retriever/Shepherd mix who lives up to his name. Breezy's a master of the zoomies, full of playfulness, goofy charm, and a heart that just wants to connect. He found himself at the shelter after his owner’s move brought him somewhere dogs weren’t welcome, but shelter volunteers made sure he landed safely out of the cold. He spent time recently in a foster home, impressing everyone with his affectionate and easygoing style. Breezy thrives as your loyal shadow—always wanting to be part of what you’re doing, but without being clingy. He’s just that perfect “hang out with you in any room” kind of companion. He loves his toys and can keep himself entertained for ages, but also craves walks and outdoor adventures. Squirrels and rabbits still trigger his playful chasing instinct, though, so a firm grip on the leash never hurts. He does well around other dogs and could thrive with a playful canine companion—or be perfectly happy as an only dog with regular exercise and interaction. Breezy rides calmly in cars, settles after play, and picks up house routines quickly. He’s mostly house trained and is comfortable sleeping quietly in his crate at night. This guy even makes bath time hilarious by hopping into the tub on his own and loves weaving through your legs when he’s excited. Breezy’s exuberance makes him a better fit for households with older children, as he’s still a big, bouncy pup at heart.
