Passion Fruit
AvailablePassion Fruit is a female bulldog mix in Milton, DE, estimated to be around six years old and medium-sized. She is spayed and up to date on vaccinations. While she is not house trained, she does well when someone is home to help manage her routine. Passion Fruit had recent heartworm treatment and will need a follow-up test in July. She's currently the only dog in her foster home, and her playful but rough style makes her a better fit for families without young children.
About Passion Fruit
Passion Fruit is a bulldog mix with plenty of attitude and more than a hint of mischief. She came from harsh beginnings, forced to live in unsanitary conditions, so letting her settle into a new environment takes patience. She has little use for other dogs and would much rather have her person all to herself. With new people, Passion Fruit values her space at first, and she sets the rules—cross those boundaries too soon and you might get a warning nibble. But give her time, and she’ll reward you with loyal companionship and surprising affection. She’s rough in play and absolutely mouths when she gets revved up, so redirecting her when she gets carried away is a must, and teens or older make the best match for her home. She’s not housebroken yet and does best with someone present for much of the day; anyone out of the house for more than four hours at a time should be prepared for accidents unless there’s a reliable mid-day potty plan. Crate training is a work in progress—she’ll happily lounge in a grated crate lined with puppy pads, which makes cleanup less of a headache, and she finds comfort in the routine. Taking her outdoors is non-negotiable: whether there’s a fenced yard or not, Passion Fruit needs her person to step out with her, as she’ll otherwise skip business entirely or leave a surprise on the doormat. She’s gotten heartworm treatment recently, so a follow-up test in July is important. Car rides are a bright spot, and she tugs at the leash but isn’t too much to handle. If you want a low-key companion instead of a social butterfly, and you don’t expect a party dog or kid’s playmate, Passion Fruit is ready to bond—just respect her pace, channel her rowdy energy, and she’ll become your irreversible sidekick.
