About Shadow

Lets make it official, apply to adopt! Shadow is a striking, large Shepherd/Retriever mix—an 85-pound gentle giant with a big, easygoing heart. At just 19 months old, Shadow finds himself seeking a new home due to his previous family’s sudden housing challenge, not because of any fault of his own. He’s housebroken, knows “sit,” and takes treats carefully when told “gentle.” Walks are a joy for him—while he sometimes pulls in novel locations, he’s eager to take in the sights and smells. He has a playful side, adoring squeaky toys and burying bones as any true retriever would, and nothing makes him happier than being brushed. While baths aren’t his favorite, he stands calmly and politely during the process. Shadow may bark at first when he spots unfamiliar people or squirrels, but with a gentle voice he quickly calms and welcomes new friends. Out and about, he’s easy to pet and loves positive attention from kind people. Shadow is best suited to families with adults or older children. He previously lived harmoniously with another dog and got along very well, and he’s curious and playful around cats—though slow introductions are advised to ensure everyone’s comfort. This sweet, beautiful boy is waiting for his forever family to find him. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
