About Buddy
They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now! Buddy is looking for a patient and understanding family who can help him transition from his former life as a stud dog to a cherished companion. As an adult Shetland Sheepdog, Buddy is quite large for his breed, currently at 32 pounds, and is working towards a healthier weight. He is a gentle soul, very sweet but timid, especially when approached with a leash. Although he knows how to walk on a leash, busy or active environments can overwhelm him, so someone with experience in leash training or working with fearful dogs would be ideal. Buddy enjoys the company of other dogs and shows particular interest in female companions. He enjoys spending time in a fenced yard and is making progress in settling into home life, though he sometimes needs a gentle nudge to come back inside. Buddy is a good eater and is currently receiving treatment for Lyme, so his routine is focused on comfort and recovery as he adjusts. If you appreciate the sensitive nature of Shelties and are willing to offer Buddy a safe space to build his confidence, he promises to blossom into a wonderful new friend. Give them the home they have been waiting for. Apply today.
