Meet Pixie Pixie is a one-year-old Chihuahua mix with a tall, slender build and long, graceful legs that make her look as delicate as she is sweet. She was found as a stray in Arkansas with her two brothers, and just one day after arriving at the shelter, she gave birth to six puppies. All of her babies have since been adopted... and Pixie was left behind, scared and alone. That's when she came into our rescue. Pixie is a shy, sensitive girl who is still learning to trust people. She doesn't yet approach her foster mom on her own, but she will accept pets and be picked up, showing that she is slowly discovering how nice gentle attention can feel. She just hasn't fully learned to seek it out or realize how much she enjoys it-but with patience and love, she will. She is wonderful with other dogs and would likely do best in a home with confident canine companions to help her feel safe. She knows how to use a doggy door and is respectful in the home. A securely fenced yard is highly recommended, as she's still learning how to walk on a leash and explore the world confidently. Pixie is a true work in progress, but the right adopter will see her potential for a sweet, loyal, and loving companion. With time, patience, and consistency, she'll learn to trust and enjoy life-and she will repay your kindness in ways only a shy soul like hers can.
