About Boone
***CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN THE COFFEEWOOD CANINES PROGRAM Boone (FKA Jeb) 3 years 7 months • 66 lbs • Bluetick Coonhound • Heartworm Survivor Boone is a handsome 66-pound Bluetick Coonhound with a loyal heart and a lot of personality. He was adopted in July 2025 and has recently returned to the shelter after his previous home discovered that his needs were more than they were able to provide. Boone is now looking for a home that better fits who he is. Boone can be sensitive to other dogs and does best in environments where he doesn’t have to navigate frequent dog encounters. A fenced yard and a quieter setting would help him feel more relaxed and confident. He will do best as the only pet so he can focus on his people and feel secure in his space. Boone also benefits from clear routines and structure in the home. He’s still learning things like sharing space and settling into household rules, and he will need adopters who are comfortable providing guidance and continuing training. In the home, Boone has shown many great qualities. He is quiet, does well in his crate, and doesn’t require a lot of physical exercise. He walks nicely on leash when in calm areas, has shown little interest in cats or outdoor critters, and has made good progress with house training. Boone is a heartworm survivor and is neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested, and fully vaccinated, including rabies. He is currently enrolled in the Coffeewood Canines Program and is ready for a patient, experienced home that will give him the structure, understanding, and stability he needs to succeed.
