**BEING TREATED FOR EHRLICHIA Caper is an approximately 1-year-old Great Pyrenees weighing around 90 pounds and YES — he is basically an oversized puppy wandering around in a giant dog body. 😂 This big goofy boy was originally brought in as a stray before being owner surrendered when his previous owner could no longer care for him. Caper is social, lovable, awkward, curious, and still learning how to exist in the world without making everything an adventure. With regular outings and routine, he has been doing an awesome job keeping his kennel tidy and settling into shelter life. He has done well with most dogs he has met. Like any young giant breed dog, Caper will absolutely need guidance, structure, patience, and continued training in his future home. He is still very much a puppy mentally, even if his size says otherwise. Caper enjoys attention, exploring, and being included in whatever is going on around him — usually with all the enthusiasm of a dog who has absolutely no idea how large he actually is. 🐾 Caper did test positive for Ehrlichia, a tick-borne illness, and treatment has already been started.
