About Joey
Meet Joey: a master wallflower, burrito blanket enthusiast, and seasoned tiny survivor. This 1-year-old (well, he seems about that age) Chihuahua mix came out of a tough hoarding situation and frankly missed out on the fun parts of being around people. His policy on strangers is firm: observe from afar, thank you very much. Most newcomers are evaluated with a healthy dose of suspicion. Still, patience pays off. Once Joey is convinced you’re safe, a softer and surprisingly sweet side starts to surface. He lounges on the couch, requests snacks with quietly impeccable manners, and shadows you like the world's most nervous but loyal intern. Each day, he's a bit braver. It’s rewarding to watch him figure out that love is actually pretty great. Joey thrives with calm, steady humans and does best with a confident dog buddy. Another dog will help show him key life lessons—strangers don’t usually bite, couches are paradise, and the kitchen is where cheese appears. He’s into cozy blanket burrows, quiet company, epic naps, and pretending to be aloof until he melts right into your lap. Joey isn’t the “OMG HI” type by nature, but with enough patience and respect for his quirks, you’ll earn a kind of fierce loyalty that only one skeptical little Chihuahua can give. That’s the real reward. Your new best friend is just one click away.
