River is a 15-month-old, 49lb pup who has been professionally trained by Revolutionary Canine, which means he will arrive to you with a solid foundation of skills (sit, down/stay, come, place, and heel) and a high level of engagement. He is a bright, food-motivated boy who is eager to learn, making him an ideal match for someone who enjoys working with a smart, capable, loving dog. His Personality & Habits: At his core, River is a "work hard, relax hard" kind of dog. He is full of life and loves to be active—whether that’s hiking, playing fetch or practicing his latest commands. However, he is equally famous for his love of "spa time." Once his energy is spent, he seeks out deep affection, thriving on long sessions of cuddles and body rubs and napping to help him loosen up after a day of activity. He is experienced with crate training, finding peace with a frozen Kong or a long-lasting bone. When it’s time to travel, he is a good passenger, often napping until he reaches his destination. The Ideal Environment: River is not suited for apartment life; he requires a home with a securely fenced yard where he can play fetch and run freely. He would do best in a quiet home without other animals in the home. However, is fine with encountering animals while out and about. Health & Readiness: River is fully grown and in peak physical condition. He is: * Neutered and microchipped. * Up to date on all vaccinations and preventatives. * Heartworm negative. River is still a young dog with a "puppy" spirit, and he requires a leader who will be patient and consistent. He is doing well with his house training when given frequent opportunities to go outside.
