Macaron is a neutered male Domestic Short Hair living in Grand Rapids, MI, with a soft orange and white tabby coat and a medium build. He’s about 6 and a half years old, fully vaccinated, and house trained. Macaron has special needs due to his history of serious paw injury and is FIV positive. Despite these challenges, he is comfortable with other cats and values his independence.

About Macaron

Macaron showed up at a volunteer’s feral feeding station and immediately bonded with her, trusting her enough to be scooped up and brought safely inside. However, his affection is reserved solely for her and only when he feels comfortable, making him a challenging cat to get close to. He arrived in terrible shape, with a split, infected foot pad and a serious flea infestation that required urgent care. Being FIV positive also means he needs a bit of extra consideration, but he hasn’t been aggressive toward the other cats, and finds some comfort in the company of felines over humans. Trust doesn’t come easily to Macaron. It will take a patient, understanding person to earn it, and he is best matched with someone who can respect his boundaries and stick with him for the long haul. His short orange and white tabby coat is easy to manage, and although he stays quiet and cautious, there's hope his softer side will bloom with time. For now, Macaron is safe, healing, and adjusting on his own schedule, and he deserves exactly that. Let’s meet him where he is and see if you’re the one to help him come out of his shell.
