Punxsutawney Phil is not currently available for adoption, but he’s a face worth knowing at the rescue. He’s still very shy, usually tucked away in a cubby where he feels safest, watching the world with quiet curiosity. The shelter allows him to take things at his own speed, never forcing attention but always offering gentle support and a calm word. This approach helps nervous cats like Punxsutawney Phil find comfort in observing others and, in time, build trust with humans. Punxsutawney Phil has overcome a hard past: he’s FIV+ and, with only two teeth left, he came in on Groundhog Day, 2024, ready for a new start. He gets along well with other cats and might do best in a peaceful home with another gentle feline or an attentive, patient human companion.
