About Lucy
Lucy is a striking young Malinois and German Shepherd mix with athleticism and heart to match. Pulled from the brink at a high-kill LA shelter, she's bounced back with grit and sweetness. Lucy thrives on action: she lives for hikes, bike rides, skateboard runs, and any game that lets her flex both mind and muscles. She's happiest when there's a task at hand, from fetch to learning new tricks to being a shadow for her foster parent while running errands. Lucy does great with other dogs, relishing both playtime and lazy moments sprawled with her foster siblings. Social at local coffee shops and dignified but approachable, she’s the perfect sidekick for anyone who lives life on the go. Kids are still an unknown; for now, Lucy is best suited for homes with older, calmer children familiar with dogs. She’d do best with an experienced adopter ready to put her brains and energy to good use. Lucy doesn’t get along with cats, so a feline-free home is a must. If you want an intelligent, loyal, confident companion for your next adventure, Lucy’s ready. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!

Questions about Lucy
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Lucy, being a Belgian Malinois and German Shepherd mix, will do best in an active home where she has room to move and plenty of things to do. Apartment living can work if daily exercise needs are reliably met, but she’ll excel with a yard and an owner who enjoys getting outside.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Lucy’s mix thrives with regular access to outdoor space—ideally a yard, but frequent trips to parks or trails can also do the trick. She has a lot of energy and benefits from room to run, explore, and play.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
These breeds can be great with children if socialized and trained properly. Lucy hasn’t been tested around kids yet, so for now she’s recommended for homes with older, calmer children who understand how to interact with high-drive dogs.
