Bartholomew
AvailableBartholomew is a small, senior neutered male Chihuahua mix with a black and white or cream coat, currently in Santa Rosa, CA. His vaccinations are up to date, and he’s known for his affectionate and gentle temperament. Though age and arthritis slow him down, his vibrant personality and willingness to join daily ranch routines make him a memorable companion.
About Bartholomew
Bartholomew arrived on the brink, frail and hurting from severe dental disease. He was in so much pain that even touching his head or ears was impossible. After dental surgery and neutering, he started bouncing back quickly, devouring his meals with new enthusiasm. At roughly 10–12 years old and a petite size, this Chihuahua mix keeps up with ranch life—he tags along to feed the goats, horses, and a pig twice daily. Mobility isn’t his strong suit; arthritis and age slow him down, but he still manages a charming, if sometimes wobbly, gallop. He always keeps an eye on his foster mom and rarely strays far. Bartholomew prefers sleeping close to his people and fellow dogs, though he’s equally happy in a soft bed on the floor. He can’t jump up or down from beds without help, so plan to offer some assistance. His transformation at the rescue is startling—his coat is now glossy, and his playful, affectionate nature stands out. Bartholomew gets along well with other dogs and brings heart and charm to any home willing to share their days with an older gentleman. Click apply to start the adoption process.
