About Stetson
Meet Stetson, a 2-year-old Australian Shepherd/Collie mix who found his way from an overcrowded California shelter to Washingtonānow ready for a real home. Stetsonās a large, soft-hearted dog with a thick, gorgeous coat and an eager mind. He has a lot of energy and a strong desire to connect with people, and he thrives when thereās something to learn or a game to play. Stetson is very treat-motivated, picks up on training quickly, and absolutely loves daily adventures. He needs an experienced adopter, ideally with herding-breed or large dog experience, who will keep up with the structure and activity heās craving. He does well with other friendly dogs and could co-exist happily with a canine sibling, but heās fine as a solo dog if you stay committed to socialization. Because Stetson can be mouthy and gets a bit jumpy when excited, heās not the best fit for homes with small kids, though dog-savvy kids over 12 could be okay. He walks well on leash most of the time but does pull if something catches his eye. When heās not exploring, youāll find him rolling in grass or right by your side, soaking up affection. Stetson is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
