About Opal

Think you are the one? Submit an application! Opal is a beautiful young shepherd mix located in southeast Arizona and ready to find her forever home. Opal and her best friend Dusty have made incredible progress since arriving at rescue—originally frightened and unsure, they now walk on leash perfectly and have truly blossomed into confident, loyal companions. Both dogs have been snake avoidance trained, impressing their trainer with their instinctive awareness. Their loyalty shines through; after a volunteer took a tumble on a walk, Opal and Dusty stayed by her side until they could continue together. While it’s hoped these two can stay together, Opal can also be adopted separately if needed. They are seeking an adopter with a large property or ranch, as they would thrive in a farm environment and would love the chance for outdoor living together. A generous donor has even offered up to $500 toward dog trainer expenses for their adopter to help make the transition smooth. Opal is extremely affectionate, protective, and bonds deeply with her people, making her not only a devoted family member but also a gentle, enthusiastic potential service companion. At just two years old and in excellent health, Opal is ready to make new memories with a loving adopter. She can’t wait to show her new family the joy, laughter, and love she has to give. With a short blond coat and lovely demeanor, Opal is truly a special dog. Born March 1st, she is a Pisces—meaning she is especially intuitive and loyal. Give her the home she has been waiting for.
