About Chloe
Chloe is a young female Great Pyrenees and Shepherd mix who ended up at the shelter after her energy and size became overwhelming for her previous family. She has developed some challenging behaviors, specifically resource guarding with adults and reactivity toward the teenager in her last home. No formal training was attempted to address these issues, so Chloe will need an adopter ready to work with her and provide structure. She's a large dog—not yet a year old—and with the right training, she has the potential to thrive. Chloe has lived with cats before but has not been around other dogs in a home setting. Because of her size and need for clear boundaries, she’s looking for a household with dog experience, a secure yard, and, ideally, an active environment where she can put her mind and body to work. Questions about Chloe
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Chloe, as a Great Pyrenees/Shepherd mix, usually does best in homes with plenty of space, such as a house with a large yard or rural property. These breeds thrive when they have room to roam and explore.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Chloe's breed combination needs a secure, sizable outdoor area to get enough exercise and stimulation. A fenced yard or property is ideal for a dog of her size and energy.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
While many Great Pyrenees/Shepherd mixes are good with children, Chloe has displayed reactivity toward teenagers. She may do best in an adult-only home or one with older teens and experienced supervision.
