Edwin is a sweet and gentle approximately 10-year-old, 25-pound Chihuahua mix who is hoping to find a loving forever home to enjoy his golden years. With an easygoing personality, Edwin delights in curling up for long naps between meals and leisurely walks, and he especially enjoys spending time outdoors. While he may have a few applications in progress, Edwin is currently available and patiently waiting for the right person to bring him home. On walks, Edwin shows wonderful leash manners and doesn’t pull, though he has a charming zig-zag walk and sometimes makes unexpected stops to observe the world around him—especially passing cars. He remains calm around other dogs, often just watching them pass by. Edwin is still working on his house training, but he excels at spending time in his crate both overnight and when his foster is out. Due to his age, Edwin is comfortable with only a few stairs but doesn’t mind short flights to come or go from the house. Currently eating a special renal diet, Edwin has adjusted well to his mealtime routine, especially when given his own designated spot to eat. Edwin’s adoption fee is $250, which includes his neuter, microchip, vaccinations, and preventatives up to date. Please note that adoption is limited to Ohio residents. STS is a foster-based, volunteer-run rescue, so once you’re approved and a home visit is completed, you’ll be able to schedule meet and greets with available dogs.
