Mela was returned to the shelter in 2021 , after spending several months in a home. During that time, she had several confrontations with other dogs so we felt it was best for her to come back to us. Mela is a Dutch Shepherd. They are known for being highly intelligent. Always alert to their surroundings and observant of everything in their midst. They are considered to be herding dogs by nature so most of them have dominant personalities. All of that fits Mela to a T. She needs exercise and stimulation. She has the potential to be a dog of a lifetime with the right handler. Basically, for Mela to be successful, she needs a job. She is very driven in her behavior. I have no doubt she is trainable and can become a great dog with proper direction. We are still praying there are bigger and better things ahead for this beautiful shepherd.
