SPRUCE Age: 1.5 years Approx weight: 84 lbs and still growing Gender: Male General personality: Friendly, affectionate, well behaved for a young dog, loyal, and playful. Spruce is super sweet and loves human touch. Like any Pyrenees, he listens well until he decides he doesn’t want to. He loves having his head scratched and just loves affection and to be near you. He’s so well behaved, especially for a larger dog. He is doing super well with the other dog in his foster home (in Kalamazoo, MI) Super playful to the point where you either need to bring them inside or they play until they can’t stand anymore. He looks up to their older Pyrenees and waits for her to join him outside and follows her around. Perfectly housetrained, no accidents. He also potties right away when you take him outside. Great in the car but needs a short restraint because he will want to get his face as close to yours in the front seat. He’s also pretty big so he needs plenty of room in the backseat. He’s super easy on walks, great on the leash and doesn’t pull. Sometimes he will freeze and is tough to keep moving because of his strength, but he is super easy to manage on a leash overall. What we hope for in a future forever home: Fence, home a lot, lots of exercise and potentially a dog sibling for companionship. Spruce LOVES being outside, so a large fenced yard for him to explore and patrol feels crucial. I think he’d love to have owners that are around more than they are away but he seems fine on his own (after he stops barking and lies down). Would not be a good fit for someone in an apartment due to his barking and size.
