About Katie

Make their next chapter their best one yet. This is a story of two inseparable sisters, Gracie and Katie, whose journey took a challenging turn when their previous caregiver could no longer look after them. In an already crowded rescue world operating beyond capacity, these two sweet souls were at even greater risk because both are blind. With no place left to turn and the heartbreaking prospect of euthanasia looming, a compassionate local vet reached out for help. Thanks to fortunate timing, the rescue was able to welcome the girls after two other adoptions freed up space. Since their arrival, Gracie and Katie have found comfort in their own peaceful room where they could slowly adjust to all the unfamiliar sounds, smells, and voices. Their blindness made the transition more daunting, but over the weeks they have blossomed—becoming more confident and playful and even seeking out staff members for affection. Now, the sisters enjoy their walks and time in the play yard, loving chin scratches and lighting up with excitement when they hear familiar voices. Doggy kisses are now a daily delight, evidence of just how much progress they’ve made from their initial confusion and anxiety. These affectionate, young girls are only three years old and full of heartwarming personality. They rely on each other for comfort and joy, making them a truly bonded pair. Katie and Gracie are searching for a special home willing to embrace both of them, giving them the loving environment they deserve. They might not see what the future holds, but they are surrounded by reassurance, treats, and gentle touches. If you can offer a second chance to this bonded duo, your loving home is just what they have been waiting for. Your new best friend is just one click away.
