About Tonya
Tonya has been part of the rescue for a couple of months, and she’s still warming up to people. For now, she spends most of her days quietly watching from afar, overwhelmed by the busy foster home and the presence of many other dogs. You can see her longing to bond, but she needs more time and a gentler touch to come out of her shell. She’d do best in a calm, steady environment without small children or constant commotion, where someone can give her focused attention. Tonya is mostly crate trained and uses a doggy door, though she’ll need more consistent walks and patience with her house training to reach her full potential. At 8 months old and around 35-40 lbs, she still has plenty to learn, but shy dogs like her often become fiercely loyal when they finally settle in. Tonya gets along with other dogs and lives in a home with cats, though she hasn’t interacted much with them. She’s spayed, heartworm negative, and current on vaccines. She’s based in Spring Hill, TN, but transport is available for the right adopter. If you can provide patience and kindness, Tonya will pay it back in spades. Your new best friend is just one click away.
