About Rosie

They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now! Meet Rosie, a gentle Plott Hound mix who found safety in the compassionate care of a kind couple after being rescued from a rural area of Texas where few resources exist for homeless animals. At 7 years old and weighing around 112 lbs, Rosie is a calm, low-energy companion who prefers lounging close to her person. She can be a touch timid at first, showing her sensitive side, and she takes gentle correction to heart—responding better to kindness and patience. Rosie loves attention, craves affection, and would thrive in a caring home where snuggles are plentiful. She is crate trained and house trained, making her an easy addition to your household. Rosie gets along nicely with other dogs, especially those that share her calm demeanor, but she may get intimidated by high-energy or assertive dogs. While her experience with cats has been limited and supervised, she has shown she can coexist peacefully. Rosie would do best in a home with children aged 10 and up to match her gentle nature. Due to her uncertainty with leashes, a fully fenced yard is strongly recommended to help her feel safe while she learns about the world at her own pace. Her flea allergy is being treated, and she is on her way to a shiny, beautiful coat. Fun fact: Rosie’s birthday makes her a Leo—just like her zodiac sign, she’s ready to be loyal and loving with her chosen person. Make their next chapter their best one yet.
