About Henrieta
Meet Hen-rieta — A Gentle Soul Waiting for Her Happy Ending Hen-rieta has been waiting over 400 days for someone to see her. Not because she isn’t sweet enough or loving enough—but because her heart just needs a little extra time to open. Once an outdoor cat struggling to survive, Hen-rieta was trapped just two days before giving birth. She raised her kittens with quiet courage and endless devotion, but she never really got the chance to just be loved herself. In the safety of her foster home, this almost 3 year old shy calico has slowly learned that humans can be kind—and that belly rubs and head scratches are actually pretty wonderful. Hen-rieta is as gentle as they come. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body—just a tender heart that’s easily startled. She’s known to be a master hider in new places, so she’ll need an experienced adopter who understands shy cats and will give her the time and patience she needs to feel safe. Once she trusts you, she’ll melt into affection, purring softly as she leans into your hand. She can even be held by her trusted humans and will purr away, content and calm in their arms. She’s also a quiet companion to other cats—especially the kind, gentle ones who give her space and let her come to them on her own terms. Her best friends are Elsie and Foxy Whiskers, who never push her but always make her feel safe and included. She would do well as an only cat or in a household with another gentle cat who will give her space. And while she may be shy, Hen-rieta has a playful, silly side too. Her favorite thing in the world is CatTV on YouTube—she’ll watch for hours, batting at the screen with her paw, completely mesmerized. It’s impossible not to smile watching her find joy in such simple things. Hen-rieta isn’t the kind of cat who’ll greet you at the door on day one. But she’s the kind of cat who will change your heart forever—the kind who reminds you that love built on patience and trust is the strongest kind of all. If you believe every cat deserves to feel safe, seen, and loved—Hen-rieta’s been waiting just for you. Please be sure to read a cat's full bio before applying!
