About Elsie Stevie &
Elsie and Stevie are bonded for life, brought together by tough circumstances in a home where they weren't cared for. Both came into the shelter after being neglected, and as a result, Elsie lost an eye and Stevie, who has likely been blind since birth, had both eyes removed. Despite Stevie's blindness, he doesn't let it slow him down; he depends on Elsie, who helps him navigate and feel at ease. Because Stevie can't see, these two must go home together. The pair would be happiest in a quiet, one-level space—stairs are a risk for Stevie—and without young children, as their environment needs a gentle touch. Stevie can be jumpy if surprised, but once he knows someone is nearby, he melts into a purring lovebug. Elsie is outgoing and affectionate, seeing the world out of one eye and keeping a close bond with Stevie. They’re both under 2 years old and enjoy curling up and playing together. Watching Stevie play with toys near Elsie is a testament to their unique friendship. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
