Cautious doesn’t even begin to describe all the feelings I was experiencing when I first got to Save-A-Pet. After all, the only constant in my life was my sister and people most probably didn’t play much of a role or may even have not been too nice to us. Being here made me realize that there were so many things to discover and that was overwhelming and can still be scary at times. The first time I heard the sound of a squeaky toy, I jumped back, unsure of whether this thing was dangerous or what it was for. The Canine Care staff didn’t give up on me and every day they helped me discover what life was all about. I wasn’t even too sure about treats but they didn’t give up and found out that I really love sliced cheese. I get to play with other doggies and in special moments I feel carefree. Who knew life could be so much better, being loved at my own speed. . I still have a lot to learn and experience and while I’m still cautious with new people, I am excited for my next adventure with a kind, compassionate and loving family.
