About Waffles

Waffles is a medium-sized, short-haired blend—mostly Black Mouth Cur and Shar Pei, but with plenty of mystery mixed in. At about 2 to 3 years old, he’s the definition of an easygoing, affable companion. Waffles is neutered and house trained. He sleeps peacefully in his crate at night, and is content to hang out in it when you’re away during the day. Dogs of all ages and sizes get along easily with him; he’d do especially well with another confident dog in the household. While he hasn’t lived with kids, he’s gentle and steady and would likely thrive around respectful children. He’s social—greeting people and canines alike with a wag and lots of curiosity. Toys and playtime are new joys, and he’s figuring out how to be a fun, relaxed dog. Waffles isn’t fazed by loud noises or commotion but does have a strong prey drive, so cats and small animals aren’t a fit for his home. He’ll need someone who’s mindful about that. He’s working on his leash manners and continues to improve with daily practice and a consistent routine. Waffles is looking for a family ready for a loyal, loving dog with a quirky streak. He’s in Elburn, IL, and would love to meet you. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
