About Ritz

Ritz is a 9-month-old, 30-pound "mini-pittie" mix who’s spent over three months waiting in foster care for his forever home. He is a sweet, goofy dog with a big heart and an adorable habit of tapping his front feet when he gets excited. Ritz loves to cuddle, especially with his foster dog friends at bedtime, and does best with calm, medium-to-large canine companions. He’s respectful of dogs who prefer not to play and really values being close to people. Ritz is too interested in cats, so a home without them will be best for everyone. He’s food motivated, already knows how to sit nicely for treats, eats his meals in his crate, and settles down for couch cuddles at the end of the day. Ritz sleeps through the night and is eager to please. With public walks, he sometimes gets reactive to other dogs when restrained, and at home, his excitement can lead him to mouth at pant legs or sleeves—his foster is working on redirecting this to toys, and his adopter will have training support to keep up the progress. For these reasons, Ritz will do best in an adult or teen home (kids over 13 preferred). Loyal, affectionate, playful, and closely bonded with his people and his resident dog pals, Ritz has tons of potential and is ready for someone who can give him the steady home he’s been waiting for. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
