About Ozzie

Ozzie came in from a Central Valley shelter and quickly earned the reputation of being a friendly, low-drama companion. He’s got that classic Corgi mix look: short, slightly bowed legs and an expressive face. Ozzie’s sociable and easy-going around people of all ages, including young children. He also gets along well with other dogs, and cats don’t faze him—he’s been cat-tested and showed no interest. He’s content to follow you around off-leash, and knows how to settle quietly in a crate or use a doggie door. House training isn’t an issue. Energy-wise, he’s mellow to medium: happy to relax in the yard or hang out while you read, but can join a play session when there’s company. He’s currently fostered with kids and dogs both big and small, and his temperament has made some think he’d make a strong candidate for therapy dog work. Ozzie does have a liver condition (a shunt) that needs ongoing veterinary management, and he eats a prescribed liver care diet. He’s had no further seizures since his diagnosis, and continues to do well, but prospective adopters must be able to take on the cost of his medical and potential surgical care. For Ozzie, timely access to the right veterinary support will make all the difference moving forward. Your new best friend is just one click away.
