About Stevie Wonder

Stevie Wonder doesn’t need sight to appreciate the good things in life—he seeks out comfort, companionship, and a gentle hand to guide him. At 10 years old, Stevie is a 30-pound Jack Russell Terrier with a calm, affectionate nature who’s both blind and diabetic, but determined not to let that slow him down. He responds best to a calm, patient presence and follows the sound of your voice, learning his environment at his own pace. Stevie is working on house training, improving as he settles in and his diabetes is managed, but he’ll need an adopter able to help him stick to a steady routine with consistent outdoor breaks—both during the day and occasionally at night. He’s great on a leash with a few verbal cues and adapts well to either a house or apartment, so long as stairs are avoided or he has help navigating. He’s good with other dogs who respect his space and does well with cats, preferring not to engage. While young, energetic kids might stress him, older children who can understand and respect his boundaries could be a good fit. Stevie loves peaceful evenings relaxing with his foster family and has really opened up even in just two weeks of care. He thrives on steadiness and kindness, and in return offers true companionship to whoever’s willing to meet him where he’s at. Give Stevie the chance to blossom in your home—he may not seek the spotlight, but he’s ready to make his next chapter a comfortable and loving one. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
