Kaiju is a male Husky/Shepherd mix, adult and medium in size, currently living in Springfield, MO. He is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. Kaiju survived weeks on his own as a stray, but he’s left that life behind and has started learning the comforts of family. He’s a 2-year-old, medium-sized Husky/Shepherd mix sitting at about 53 pounds. His time as a stray made him a bit reserved when meeting new people, but stick around—within about 20 minutes, he softens up and leans right in for cuddles. Kaiju prefers the company of sturdy, older kids who won’t get bowled over during playtime. He gets along with other dogs his size or larger with careful introductions, and he’s happiest with humans nearby. Cats are not a fit; he’s got a high prey drive that just doesn't mix. Kaiju’s leash manners are decent, though he’s still brushing up on mastering house training, and he’s got a vocal streak that makes him a poor fit for apartments. A securely fenced yard is a must so he has space to run off all that Husky energy. He would be happiest with a patient, active family willing to bring him along on adventures and give him consistent guidance. Car rides and treat time get his tail going.
