About Oreo

You’re never too old for something sweet, and Oreo is that reminder—a big-hearted, goofy, one-year-old Border Collie mix, tipping the scale at about 73 pounds. Oreo’s the kind of dog who’ll bring out your playful side, with tail wags, zoomies, and relentless games of fetch. He already walks nicely on leash and knows a handful of commands (“Sit,” “Shake,” “Drop it,” “Inside,” and “Outside”), and he’s working on “Down,” though greeting people with a jump is still his idea of a proper hello. House training is done, and he’s good about his crate, too. Oreo gets along with other dogs, cats, and older children, but his enthusiastic greetings might be overwhelming for the youngest kids. When meeting new people, he can start off a bit shy, but once he feels comfortable, he becomes your loyal shadow. Oreo’s favorite things include fetch, toys, races in the yard, and sprawling out for head scratches and snuggles. Because he was left alone for long stretches before, he does have some separation anxiety, especially if you’re nearby but out of reach. He’ll need someone patient, able to set loving boundaries, and ready to help him finish healing from that tough past. Oreo needs a home with a fenced yard, plenty of playtime, and a family ready for unconditional puppy love. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
