About Miley

Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started. Meet little Miley! This absolutely adorable girl is hoping to find a forever home with a loving family ready to cherish her. Miley is a roughly 10-pound, one-year-old chihuahua mix with a beautiful long silver and cream coat. She gets along wonderfully with other small dogs and enjoys playtime as much as being by your side or carried around. Miley is learning basic commands and doing very well with crate training, making her an ideal companion for someone looking for a devoted best friend. For Miley’s safety and happiness, her future home must have a securely fenced yard attached to the house, as well as a sturdy, high-quality crate (soft or wire crates are not accepted). Apartments will not be considered, but condos or homes with a private, dog-safe fenced area may be approved at the rescue's discretion. Adoption is limited to Western Washington (and possibly Northern Oregon) so Miley stays close to her foster support network. Homes with children under age 5 or 6 are generally not considered due to limited history on her interactions with small children. Miley is being fostered in Poulsbo, WA, and all meet-and-greets will take place there. If you are the right fit, you will be asked to submit an application, share photos of your fencing and crate setup, participate in a phone interview, and then meet Miley in person. Above all, Miley is looking for a safe and loving family excited to welcome her home! They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now!

Questions about Miley

  • What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?

Chihuahuas are well-suited for a variety of living environments, including apartments and small homes, as long as they receive enough attention and exercise. They thrive best in homes with secure outdoor space, especially if there is an emphasis on their safety.

  • How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?

Chihuahuas require only a modest amount of outdoor space. A small, securely fenced yard is ideal for them to safely explore and play, though daily walks and indoor play can also suffice.

  • Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?

Chihuahuas can do well with children, but they are best suited for households with older, gentle kids. Their small size makes them vulnerable to accidental injury from rough play with young children.
