About Star
Star wandered onto the property one morning before a youth summer camp, spotted crossing Canton Road near the rescue. After a long day with help from neighbors and dedicated staff, she was coaxed out of a wooded area and brought safely inside. Star was noticeably pregnant, and it’s likely she was abandoned for that reason. She settled in fast, gave birth, and showed herself to be a patient, devoted mom. Now her puppies have moved on and it’s Star’s turn. She has a calm, loving temperament and bonds closely with people. She soaks up attention, enjoys going for walks, and craves companionship. While she hasn’t mixed with a large number of dogs due to her role as a mother, she’s gotten along well with those she’s met—cats included. Star is a true mixed breed with a look reminiscent of an American English Coonhound, sporting a short coat and a medium build. Give them the home they have been waiting for. Apply today.
