About Marlin
Marlin spent years as a breeder dog, so he comes with a lot of nervous habits and needs a very specific setup to thrive. At heart, he's an older guy who prefers the background—he'd rather be seen, not touched, and finds comfort in quiet surroundings. Marlin isn't leash trained, and it's unlikely he'll ever take to it, so a fully fenced yard is a must for his safety and peace of mind. He lived his first 8 years inside a crate and remains wary of people; he won't be a cuddle buddy or a walking companion anytime soon. There's no aggression in him, just a desire to be left alone and allowed to adapt at his own slow pace. Despite a tough past, Marlin has made small but meaningful strides in foster care—he can walk outside and come back in on his own, and doesn't bolt when someone approaches. He will do best in a quiet home that can provide another small, confident, and friendly dog to show him the ropes. The biggest reward with Marlin comes from watching him gain confidence, step by step. It just takes patience and a willingness to let him be himself. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
