About Herkie
Think you are the one? Submit an application! Meet Herkie, a sweet yellow lab around 13-14 years old and weighing about 60 pounds. Herkie absolutely loves attention from people—pets and adoration are his favorites! Strolls are a highlight of his day, so you'll have a loyal walking companion, but he's equally happy napping and enjoying treats. Herkie thrives in a home where he can be the only pet and get all the love to himself. Because he's so treat-motivated, he should be fed separately from other pets to keep things low-stress for him. Herkie does best in a calm, supportive environment where his people can help him continue to build trust and confidence, especially as he works through some abandonment fears from his past. He's fully potty trained and can free-roam the house when alone, though he's used to the crate as well. Even though he’s a senior, he still enjoys light activity and would love a fenced yard to explore. If you’re looking to skip the puppy stage and are ready for steady companionship, Herkie is ready to be your loyal friend. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
