About Kirby

Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now! Kirby may be considered a special needs dog, but his loving nature shines through every day. Bursting with a big personality, Kirby fills any room with joy and enthusiasm. He experiences some vision loss, making a single-level home ideal for him, though he comfortably handles a few steps up and down. This spirited small terrier would truly thrive with a friendly canine companion who understands and can help him transition into a routine. He does well with cats that give him space and is best suited to homes without young children due to his habit of greeting with eager paws. Kirby has made great progress on food bowl manners and kennel training at mealtimes. Occasional accidents can happen, but with a regular schedule and routine outdoor breaks, he does very well. His adoption fee of $200 includes his neuter, microchip, up-to-date vaccinations, preventatives, and a complementary obedience course at Cedar Run Company in Hiawatha. Adopters are expected to provide comprehensive, lifelong care, and the adoption process includes a home visit and reference checks. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
