About Ricky
Ricky is a gentle, sweet, and sensitive small Terrier who’s still learning that people can be safe. At first, he’ll hang back—not one to launch into new situations or rush up to strangers—but his trust grows over time with steady, kind treatment. Ricky does best in a calm environment where routines stay predictable and the energy never gets loud. He loves having another dog around, both for playtime and to help him feel more confident. He’s playful once he’s comfortable, often carrying his toys and finding comfort in having a canine companion. Ricky does not get along with cats or children and will need a home without either. He’s fully house trained, likes to chew on bones, and requires a secure fenced yard (above 4 feet) to safely explore while easing into new experiences. This is a dog for someone who understands shy, sensitive breeds and can practice patience. Ricky is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and comes with a free basic training course. If you’re ready to give him time, Ricky will repay that with loyalty and affection. What are you waiting for? Apply today!

Questions about Ricky
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Terriers like Ricky are typically happiest in homes that are calm and stable, ideally with access to a secure yard. They can adapt well to both house and apartment living if provided daily exercise and enrichment.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Ricky and other small Terriers benefit from a secure outdoor area to explore and play safely. A fenced backyard is ideal, especially because Ricky needs a fence taller than 4 feet.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Terriers can be good with children in some cases, but Ricky is not a fit for homes with kids. His shy, sensitive nature means he needs a quieter, adult-only environment.
