About Zoey
Zoey is a lovely 5-year old+ female Pit Bull Terrier who was surrendered by her family on October 16, 2025. Zoey had been the innocent victim of an attack by another dog and had suffered wounds on head/face and the rest of her body. She was taken to one of our wonderful local veterinarians on October 16th and was treated for her wounds (including drains in her neck to allow wounds to drain). Zoey has a red/mahogany-and-white short smooth coat, a long tail, and a beautiful face with hopeful brown eyes, a liver-colored nose, a white muzzle, and extra-large erect ears. Zoey was understandably both nervous and frightened when she first entered our shelter after the trauma she had experienced, but she sensed that she was in a good place with people who were there to help her. Zoey quickly warmed up to her new best friends (HSOV Staff and Kennel Techs) who had gained her trust. Zoey weighs 45 lbs and walks fairly well on a leash. We've learned that Zoey loves to ride in a car and has made several trips to see her favorite veterinarian. This little sweetheart has been recuperating from her traumatic experience in our director- and manager's office, and she has also enjoyed extra TLC from our compassionate kennel techs and shelter staff. Zoey's physical wounds have now healed, and she is ready to find a loving home. These photos were taken on November 5th 2025 when Zoey was taking advantage of snuggle time on the blanket-covered sofa in the lobby of our shelter. Zoey will be spayed before being officially adopted, but she could be fostered while she is awaiting her spay procedure with an approved HSOV foster/adoption application.
