About Flounder

Your new best friend is just one click away. Meet Flounder! This handsome brindle boy is full of joy and delights in making new friends wherever he goes. Stuffed toys are his favorite, and he loves tossing them around the yard before soaking up all the affection you're willing to give—even if that means squishing his large cheeks and showering him with kisses. Flounder absolutely thrives on attention and can't wait for a home where he’ll be the center of your world. He weighs about 40 pounds fully grown and is around two years old. While he’s playful and loving, Flounder can be a bit too exuberant for canine companions, so he’ll do best as the only dog in your home. If you have cats, the rescue is happy to arrange a meet-and-greet to see how he does. Because of his energy, Flounder may be too enthusiastic for young children, but he’s exceptionally smart and food-motivated—he already knows "sit," is learning "touch," and can master new cues quickly with positive reinforcement. Currently residing with Homeward Trails Animal Rescue in Delaplane, VA, Flounder is quiet in his kennel and loves toys, treats, and walks. He’s neutered, up to date on vaccines, and a Libra—did you know Libras are known for their charming and social nature? Flounder is ready for a loving home with plenty of playtime, cuddles, and attention. Approved applicants can meet him in person by appointment. Don’t miss out on the chance to make him a cherished part of your family! Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
