About Indigo

Meet Indigo! Indigo is a 4-year-old neutered cattle dog/whippet mix with a playful spirit and a calm, easygoing nature indoors. Adopted as a puppy through Hearts for Paws in 2020, he’s back searching for a quiet adult household where he can be the only pet. Indigo is fully housetrained, crate trained, and knows a solid set of commands—sit, stay, down, bed, crate, and more. He greets friends with a wagging wiggle and a charming submissive grin, and he’s easy to motivate with treats, which makes training a breeze. He enjoys relaxed days inside and can turn on the energy outside when it’s time for long walks or a backyard game of fetch. Indigo appreciates quiet neighborhoods and may get nervous around too much hustle and bustle. On daily walks, he’s polite on leash and indulges in long “sniffaris,” curious but not prone to marking. He’s lived with small dogs previously and might do well with slow introductions, but he’s happiest as your solo companion. Indigo has also lived with a cat he enjoyed playing with, but may chase unfamiliar cats—careful, slow introductions are best. Currently fostered in Sacramento but adoptable in Davis, CA, Indigo’s adoption fee is already covered by a sponsor who believes in his happy ending.
