About Ziggy

They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply? Meet Ziggy, a 126-pound, four-year-old Merle Great Dane with a heart as big as his frame. Ziggy is a giant snuggler who thrives on affection, always asking for pets and gently giving his paw. He adores car rides—especially hanging his head out of the window to feel the breeze, though a doggy seatbelt is a must for safety. Ziggy is crate trained and has proven to be easily trainable thanks to his love of food. While he was uncertain and fearful on leash walks at first, especially around other dogs, his confidence grows every day. After slow introductions and use of a crate, Ziggy gets along with other large dogs when off leash and loves resting beside them. At his foster's workplace, Ziggy is content to relax on a dog bed until it's time to head home, greeting new people with friendliness and an easygoing temperament. He finds children a little intimidating as it's unfamiliar territory, so a home that can help him navigate new experiences gently would be ideal. House trained, Ziggy communicates his need for potty breaks by barking or crying and is generally easy to have around. He's playful with his toys, independent when needed, and brings joy wherever he goes. Start your journey together! Apply now.
